Excellent experience tasting olive oil.

We recently did a tour of the facility while traveling in Spain. My husband and I consider ourselves olive oil connoisseurs. Basilippo is one of the best we ever tasted.

We dropped in on our way to Sevilla and had the most wonderful welcome from Don Juan Antonio and the rest of the family. Fantastic to hear about the 300 years of history that the family has run the farm and wonderful to taste the delicious olive oils, we’re taking a great selection back to Australia with us. Gracias!

It was a great tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Having sampled a few of the different flavors of olive oil at this place we decided to buy a box. We bought a box of Basilippo : Arbequina, Picual, Aromas, and Organic 100ml each.

Great olive oil farm just outside of Seville. We got to walk around the grounds and saw all the olive trees. We went to the shop to try the different types of olive oil before we purchased some. You could distinguish the taste of the oil depending on when the olives were processed. Would recommend going to this farm for the experience.

Unforgettable incredible experience. This was hands down the highlight of our three week trip to Spain. Every detail felt personal; every detail was informative. Amazing to witness this beautiful family’s life passion.

We took a tour here as one of the planned activities on our Spanish tour. The local guide was very informative and gave us eye opening insight into what high quality olive oil should smell and taste like. I think most of our group was surprised by the information provided. We were able to see what the olive oil process is like and sample the oil produced by the farm. It’s strikingly different than what is typically available in the States.

We had such an amazing time on our olive oil tasting tour just outside of Seville! 🌿🫒 It was not only delicious but incredibly informative. We learned all about the different types of olive oil, the detailed production process, and—surprisingly—that the colour of olive oil has nothing to do with its quality (who knew?!). One of the highlights was meeting the farm owner, Juan Antonio. He was such a kind and passionate man, incredibly proud of his farm, and made us feel so welcome. Our guide was also fantastic—super knowledgeable and warm, which made the entire experience even better. If you’re in the area, this tour is 100% worth it. Fun, authentic, and full of flavor! 🍽️🌿✨

Wir kamen spontan vorbei und wurden über die Möglichkeiten einer Führung informiert. Wir entschieden uns für einen selbstständigen Rundgang durch den Olivenhain mit anschließender Besichtigung der Produktion und Ölverkostung für €75 zu zweit. Wir hatten dann das Glück, das Juan Antonio - der Patriarch- vor Ort war, sich offensichtlich gerne mit seinen Gästen unterhält und uns deshalb persönlich herumgeführt hat. Trotz Sprachbarriere und Dank seiner Geduld haben wir sehr viel erfahren. Die Ölverkostung war interessant. Das Schokoladeneis mit Orangenöl sehr lecker. Die Preise für die Führung, Verkostung und auch Öle sind hoch. Aber alles in allem ein Erlebnis.

Wir haben unseren Besuch spontan per WhatsApp mit einem sehr charmanten und freundlichen Mitarbeiter abgestimmt. Obwohl sie mitten in der Ölproduktion der neuen Ernte steckten, wurden wir herzlich und überaus freundlich willkommen geheißen. Der Senior Chef persönlich hat uns im Auto über die Anlage gefahren und uns alles erklärt. Wir sprechen zwar kein Spanisch und er kaum Englisch - aber es hat trotzdem prima funktioniert o:). Danach haben wir, mein Mann und ich, uns in einer Verkostung durch die köstlichen Öle probiert. Eine neue und spannende Erfahrung! Die Verkostung fand im sehr ansprechend gestalteten Shop statt, wo es alles gibt, was mit und aus Oliven hergestellt werden kann. Wir entschieden uns für 3 Öle und hatten damit auch das perfekte Mitbringsel aus dem Urlaub! Wir empfehlen den Besuch wärmstens!

Hatten dort eine Tour (in perfektem Englisch) und ein Tasting mit tollen Erklärungen zu den Oliven, dem Öl, den Qualitätsmerkmalen etc. Das leckerste Olivenöl was ich jemals probiert habe (mit Schokoladeneis).

We went for a private tour and it was an amazing experience. We visited the field, "factory" and did an olive oil tasting. Everything was very insightful and our guide Gessica was wonderful. There's also a shop where you can buy their amazing product at a decent price.

Highly recommended if you are in the area! On the way from Sevilla to Cordoba we stopped at Basilippo. The owner gave us a private tour. He tells us passionately about the company and you can see the passion in the products. We tasted delicious olive oils and drove to our next destination with full bags from the store. A fascinating experience! The proprietor is very skilled at guiding us through his farm & processing facility, with a delivery both entertaining and educational. And who knew that orange-scented olive oil tasted great on chocolate ice cream???

Exceptionnel ! Endroit magnifique. Superbe huile d’olive. Un accueil royal. La personne sera vous accueillir comme il ce doit. Fantastic time here. We rang on the day and even though they had 120 people on coaches in the morning they gave up their lunch break to for us in as we were travelling from Cordoba to Seville. We all loved it, their passion for what they do is amazing and the olive oil tasting was great. We learnt a lot. Only downside is it is probably the end of us buying cheap rubbish from the supermarket. Thank you for being so welcoming to me, my wife and our 4 kids (who also enjoyed it throughly too, even the 8yr old).

Excellent tour and beautiful place. We were a group of 9, and Guillermo gave us the best tour. Explained many details of the farm and answered all our questions. During a tour, we were treated to a delightful wine and dinner experience. As part of our dinner, we were served a delicious dish featuring chicken, salad, bread and olive oil. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing late afternoon. One highlight of the visit was the chance to explore the olive groves, witnessing firsthand how olives are grown and harvested. It was truly a rewarding and educational experience. Additionally, the souvenir store at the location offered a variety of high-quality products, including olive oil and other unique items. While the prices may be a bit on the higher side, the quality of the products certainly made it worth the investment. Overall, my visit was a memorable one, filled with enriching experiences and delicious discoveries. I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in learning more about olive oil production and tasting some exceptional products. I hope you have the opportunity to visit this wonderful place in the future.

Köstlich, herzlich und wissenswertig - wir wurden ganz spontan über das komplette Gelände geführt (wenn auch sonst mit Reservierung üblich) und konnten das leckere Öl in seinen verschiedenen tollen Variationen kosten und kaufen. Der Ausflug lohnt sich!

Desagradable, el yerno, soy chófer y hice visita con mi grupo, hice todo recorrido y en la cata de aceite me dijo que no había sitio que era la primera vez en 20 años que un chófer entraba, mi contestación que era la primera vez que se me trataba así que en todos lados podía entrar, si es por el aceite, que tengo dos manos para trabajar y comprarme mi aceite y no este precisamente, yo no entraba por eso.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Basilippo! We had a private tour with the owner’s son-in-law, Isaac (we reserved with them online in advance) who was charming, warm, and taught us so much about the olive oil process and the entire culture. The tasting was educational and wonderful. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Sevilla area—was a quick 30 minute drive. Their oils are delicious!

We arrived half hour before their closing. The owner himself welcomed us in Spanish. Unfortunately we didnt know any Spanish but their staff knew English well. Since there was not enough time for their formal tour, we were a little disappointed first but the owner himself offered us a 15 min tour around the farm, he was driving while his staff (who was also very helpful, and informative) was translating, and they provided us a lot of information about olives, their types, harvesting, olive oil types and what makes the difference in what you taste at the end in olive oil. It was very nice and special what he did and it was a highlight in our trip. We also tasted different types of olive oils from various harvests, loved their product and ended up buying a couple bottles from them.

Wir sind begeistert von der Herzlichkeit die uns bei Basilippo entgegen gebracht wurde und empfehlen jeden der in der Nähe ist einen Besuch! Wir sind ohne Reservierung gekommen und trotzdem hat uns der Besitzer selbst durch die Olivenbäume geführt. Anschließend wurde eine Verkostung für uns ermöglicht. Man spürt zu jeder Zeit die Liebe, mit der das Unternehmen geführt wird. Wir freuen uns darauf das Basilippo Olivenöl nun auch zu Hause genießen zu können!

INCREDIBLE experience. We arrived without a reservation and the Hacienda was closed. But the owners saw us at the gate, allowed us in and proceeded to spend 2 hours taking us through their entire farm and process. Probably the best experience and show of hospitality we have had during 2 months in Spain. And the olive oil is delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

No solo es el mejor aceite que he probado, lo descubrí por casualidad en 2014 cuando vivía en Sevilla, desde entonces no entra otro en casa, por que es sencillamente sublime sobre una tostada , o en una ensalada, da igual la variedad. Sólo ver la etiqueta de la botella escrita a mano, ya no hacen falta palabras, para saber el "lujo" que hay dentro de cada botella. Y además el equipo, la atención todo , no puedo mas que recomendarlo, soy , mejor dicho: somos en mi casa enamorados de Basilippo. Gracias por hacer con algo tan sencillo que uno se sienta millonario cuando desayuna :)

We visited this family owned and operated olive oil company as part of a Spain tour. We had an education about olive oil production and the differences in oil qualities. The place was rustic, the olive grove looked terrific during sunset. The dinner was modest yet tasteful. The olive oil ice cream was heavenly.

What a wonderful, informative tour. Isaac was the perfect host and gave us shelter (and coffee) when the rain started to hammer down. All our olive related questions were answered and we will never buy sub standard extra virgin olive oil again. If someone told us before the tour that we would have loved chocolate ice-cream with a pinch of salt and a drizzle of olive oil, we would have thought they were mad. It is heaven! Take the tour. You will not be disappointed

Top quality olive oil - pure and amazing flavor

We had a wonderful tour of this family legacy and learned a lot about olive trees, olive oil manufacturing and the passion around making exceptional olive oil. We did not have a reservation but was welcomed like family and enjoyed our time there very much. The store has a great selection of unique and thoughtful olive derivative items.

A highlight if you are visiting Seville is to take 3 hours to visit this Olive oil factory. Really a MUST in Spain. Issac is very knowledgeable and the tastings are amazing!

What an amazing tour! Isaac was such a warm, entertaining, educational guide. He explained the process with such enthusiasm and charm (in fluent English). I’ve been on many tours of wineries, distilleries, orchards, etc. over 50 years, and none better than this. I learned so much, and gained a great appreciation for the care this family takes to make only the best, true extra virgin olive oil. The conclusion of the tour, in the 250-year-old dining room, was magnificent. All three generations enjoyed the learning, the tasting, the cultural connection, and the sweet doggies too!

TAKE A TOUR HERE! Very fun and memorable tour. Great gift shop at the end where you can buy olive oil creams, oils, beauty products, soaps, etc. I bought €21 of high quality olive oils. These olive oils make great gifts. very friendly owner. I loved trying the orange flavored olive oil with the chocolate ice cream. Clean bathrooms. Love that it’s local and family owned. Very beautiful and aesthetic location and building. I would love to work with this place in the future and promote it!

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had! We were extremely well received, the information was amazing, the olive oil tasting really changed everything I thought I knew about olive oils. I truly loved it and recommend it! If you are in the region, you should visit this place!

We have just returned from a morning trip to Basilippo Oleoturismo. What a revelation! Issac was utterly charming and took us through the history and contemporary production process of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We learnt so much and came away with an entirely new conception of EVOO. I would highly recommend this 90 minute tour and tasting. The tasting is an experience it itself. Olive oil infused with Seville Orange, salt and chocolate is one offering! Wonderful specialist shop too. To get there you take Bus 126 from a bus stop just outside San Bernardo Train Station to El Viso del Alcor where you get off at Hotel Picasso. Issac picked us up and returned us to the bus stop. All very interesting and doable in a morning. We caught the 8.30 bus and we’re back in Seville at 1pm.

Isaac was a wonderful guide into the world of olive oil. His family’s olive farm is absolutely beautiful. We were on the guided tour which is fascinating and deep dives the history of olive oil and gives a real insight into the process. The endless trees are beautiful. The tour comes with an amazing tasting experience, of course their is olive oil home made on site. You’ll also taste it with meats and ice cream (which is delicious). Make the time to support a local family you will not be disappointed.

Hemos realizado la visita guiada, y una maravilla. La hacienda es muy bonita, y la calidad de los productos espectacular. Isaac nos ha explicado todo con la profesionalidad y el cariño de alguien al que le apasiona lo que hace. La cata muy provechosa, aprendiendo conceptos básicos que nos ayudarán a elegir mejor un buen aceite a partir de ahora. Nos alegramos mucho de haber ido; experiencia recomendable.

Basilippo is a wonderful, family-owned small manufacturer of high-quality olive oil. We were given a private tour through the premises by Isaac, one of the owners: a walk through the olives grooves, a look at historic olive oil equipment in their little museum as well as peek at the modern processing facility. We learned so much about olive oil. Isaac is a funny guy, so 2h passed by quickly. Highly recommended! To top everything off, we had small olive oil tasting where we got to learn everything about true extra virgin olive oil. (Some bread, ham and ice cream included.) Unbelievable how good freshly harvested olive oil smells and tastes. We were happy to buy some oil as presents in the gift shop. Paid tours are available with prior registration. (see their website - they responded within 12h) Tours are in very good English.

The tour was great! We learned about different qualities of oil and how they harvest the olives. We also got to see the press and all the machines, and how people have made oil historically. The tasting was terrific! There are not so many types of oil they make, but they are delicious. Plus, they ship oil to the US, or you can take a small airplane size with you in the carry-on.

Top, absolut empfehlenswert! Wir haben einen wundervollen Nachmittag bei Basilippo verbracht. Fast ein Jahr nach unserer Reise erinnern wir uns an die unglaubliche Führung. Die Führung war so persönlich, und der Besitzer hat sich so viel Zeit genommen um alles zu zeigen und zu erklären. Auch der junge Mitarbeiter war unglaublich. Man merkt dass alle Mitarbeiter mit Liebe und Hingebung arbeiten. Das bleibt ein Höhepunkt unserer Reise.

Estuve la semana pasada estuvimos de viaje por Andalucía con unos amigos de Madrid, y queríamos conocer los secretos del Aceite de Oliva, en el hotel donde nos hospedabamos nos recomendaron visitar Basilippo, una Almazara de el Viso del Alcor. El trato que recibimos fue fantástico, nos hicieron sentir como si fuésemos de la familia. El personal muy agradable, y aprendimos mucho sobre el AOVE. Fue una experiencia de oleoturismo increíble. También conocimos a Juan Antonio, el propietario, quién nos acompañó durante parte del recorrido y nos dió buenas lecciones sobre el cultivo del olivo y sobre el aceite de oliva virgen extra. 100% recomendable.

Overpriced tour. English tour per person of 30 Euros! They will show you the olive trees, explain the olive oil extraction process and give you olive oil tasting with tasting notes. We found the price too high so we opted for the 30 Euros of oil tasting for 2 adults and 2 children. They have tasting guide for 2 flavours and explained what is called ‘Lamp oil’ which is the lowest quality without the “ Extra virgin”. Still overpriced. The only bit which was good was where we taught to oxidise the oil in the mouth which generated spicy notes and eating chocolate ice cream with orange oil. If you have other options or want to do the shopping only, that may be good use of your time and money.

Hacienda Merrha Basilippo, Where Olive Oil is King Located between Carmona and El Viso del Alcor, in the province of Seville this family owned Organic Hacienda shares with the visitors the knowledge of identifying a good olive oil. We were lucky to meet the patriarch of Basilippo, Juan Antonio Morillo who that along with his apprentice Jesus Sutil, talk to the trees every morning. He believes that the fundamental basis of the olive oil quality is the care and understanding of each olive tree, 365 days per year, and cannot forget that the tree is the olive oil producer, we are only the ones who extract it. Juan Antonio treated us to his wife's Ajo, a delicious garlic soup made with garlic, sour oranges, salted cod and Olive Oil, and to finish the degustation, Jesus brought chocolate and Oatmeal ice creams then proceeded to drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil on them (Orange flavor scented on Chocolate) and a new flavor profile occurred. According to Juan Antonio a good olive oil is not determined by the color or the type of olive, it's the process what does. He pointed to a small tree full of small olives and he called it Acebuche: the wild olive you see all around, that if processed right a good quality oil can be obtained. Luckily, if you do not have the chance to visit Basilippo to buy their exquisite olive oils, they are available at the Farway Markets in NY and CT. Reservations to visit the farm and the olive oil degustation are strongly recommend.

We had a really awesome and informative visit. The tasting at the end was also great. Everyone was very nice. At the end we could buy oil and local products in the shop. I can only recommend to go there for a visit to learn about the olive oil production and taste good oil.

We visited Basilippo on a recent trip to Spain. I learned so much about olive oil at this hacienda, and our host was friendly, professional, and fun. I think everyone on the tour bought olive oil to take home. I would highly recommend Basilippo to everyone traveling to the Seville area!!!

This is a family run olive farm. Came here on a tour explaining the process and even got to taste some oil, very high quality tasting oil, there is a shop to buy products even.

I was there on a Trafalgar tour. What a beautiful farm and hacienda. A family business with a phenomenal product. A must see.

Never knew orange olive oil & chocolate ice cream could taste so good. Incredible experience.

Wonderful place to enjoy a family style group dinner. We were greeted by the owner and given a short tour and orientation. Learned a little bit about the olive growing industry in Spain. We were then given some delicious sangria and invited to have a seat at the tables in the courtyard. There on site chef had prepared a delicious meal with several options for us. Everything was fresh and delicious! At the end of the meal we were served some homemade strawberry ice cream with just a light drizzle of their lemon infused olive oil. Possibly one of the best desserts I had while in Spain.
