As the first 2020 Covid lockdown eased, we opened our third store opened on June 25th 2020 on Marina Bay Gibraltar.Rounding of 2020, we opened stores 4 & 5 with The Food Co. Quesada opening on October 27th 2020 & The Food Co. Málaga opening on October 29th 2020. With the success of the first 6 stores, an extensive expansion planned across Spain & Portugal for 2021 is being worked on.4The Food Co. aim to bring the loved British brands to your door, ranging over 7,500 products, bringing you that little taste of home. Whether you’re soaking up the sun on the Costa del Sol, admiring the beautiful beaches of Costa Blanca, or immersing yourself in the vibrant Portuguese culture, you’re never far away from all your favourite brands with The Food Co.
The Food Co. was set up in 2019 in order to bring the very best of the British Branded products direct to Spain, Portugal & Gibraltar. A major expansion program was set in place for 2020. With the companies next 3 stores set to open within the first quarter of 2020.The beginning of 2020 was a learning curve for us all, we adapted and made changes to keep staff & customers safe. The Pandemic delayed the opening of the Málaga store. However, The Food Co. opened its second store on February 25th 2020 located in the Algarve, on Avenida Duarte Pacheco, Almancil. Located just off the N125, with large onsite parking and located perfectly between Faro and Albufeira.
On November 5th we launched our first store in Mazarron in early January we announced the opening of three more stores in Almancil, Gibraltar and between Mijas and Fuengirola.On February 25th our second store opened its doors in Almancil, Portugal.Shortly after on June 25th Gibraltar opened their doors.
All products are subject to availability. Some products may not be available in all of our stores. All prices are correct at the time of their publication but are subject to immediate change without notice. Packaging may appear different from advertised.
To round off the year in October 2020 we will open the Quesada on the 27th & Málaga on the 29th.

Very nice selection of Co-Op, Waitrose and Tesco food (though hopefully they boycott Tesco moving forward due to their support of Palestinian genocide). There are a huge variety of products at very reasonable prices. Nice staff. Quiet. Air conditioned. Good vibes in general.

Plenty of items that suits the British community, prices are a bit more expensive, but geared for the British so will have to pay to import favourite items, HP sauce etc. spotlessly clean and the staff are always very friendly.

Neuer moderner und heller Supermarkt. Die Kundenzielgruppe sind augenscheinlich Engländer, viele spezielle englische Lebensmittel. Allgemein recht teuer und meist deutlich höhere Preise als z.B. im naheliegenden Marcadona-Supermarkt. Wir haben uns den Laden mal angeschaut, bevorzugen aber lieber die anderen Läden im Ort.

Alles aus England, auch die Milch. es wird Englisch gesprochen. hier bekommt man vieles, was es in anderen Geschäften nicht gibt. preislich etwas höher, dafür sehr viele Marken Produkte. das Coop symbol sieht wie das ehemalige Coop in Deutschland aus. sehr sauber und aufgeräumt. auch Coop eigene Labels. sehr freundlich bedient worden. keine frische Theke. kostenlose Parkplätze. Kartenzahlung wird akzeptiert. hat mich echt positiv überrascht. gehe gern wieder hin. volle 5 Sterbe!

I have been surprised by the amount of English rubbish that there is in this supermarket, it seems that what is about to expire is brought to Spain to be sold at an inflated price... with form I have entered, I have left ..... A 2 liter bottle of Fanta, 2.50 euros, when you can find it a few steps away at Lidl for 1.45, I don't think that the Fanta bottles come from the U.K, there are here in Spain.

Siempre manteniéndose a una temperatura recomendada y establecida por las autoridades. Es posible que quizás que haya sufrido una falsa sensación al venir del exterior, al ser pleno verano y haya estas temperaturas tan sofocantes. Procure tenga cuidado con los cambios de temperatura y manténgase hidratada.

Disappointed to hear you are making staff redundant when you are still staying open until 9pm, 6 days a week. Always more staff than customers at night, a total waste of wages and electricity. My friends and myself bought more before you replaced Tesco goods with Supervalue and lceland stock.

Gran tienda con amplia variedad de productos ingleses. Los productos y la publicidad son de Tesco, pero en el ticket pone Overseas. Imagino que serán de la misma cadena. No está mal, aunque los precios en esta tienda son algo más caros que en otras similares. Gran variedad de salsas deliciosas, especialmente los curries. Muy buen precio en huevos camperos. La recomiendo. Domingos cerrado.

Thought I should visit the Mazarron store to avail myself of some much needed British “bog-standards”and ventured there yesterday to be confronted by no one! I entered the empty store and traversed all of the aisles to seek my favourites.... I saw the Kellogs cornflakes and Tescos own rice crispies ..no Bisto but a huge basket of Goldenfry granules of chicken or onion or beef to choose from...I got 2 Goldenfry beef granule packs and 3 375g Tesco’s own rice crispies and fought my way to the till to eventually find a cashier and ask why so empty...she said Sunday morning at this time was the best as it was usually very quiet...? I. could not resist in suggesting that it was not the Sabbath nor the time that made the FOOD STORE resemble the Marie Celeste but instead The exorbitantly priced “British” goods and intimated that even in the dearest Spanish stores together with the Mercadona, the Consum and the local garage/multi markets the items I nought together with everything available in this store could be bought much more cheaply everywhere....they had a stand of 375g Kellogs cornflakes at a reduced price of €2.57 and these had a last year’s Christmas label on them but every packet in the 3 depth promotion were all open at the top! I said to this cashier that this was a faulty ill conceived offer but it probably would not matter as I could not see this cheap money grabbing thievery remaining open as a going concern. I left so terribly annoyed at Tesco/FoodCompany “ wide-boy”effrontery that In dumping my trolley I forgot my €1 deposit ,however in driving around to return home I saw a huge fist fight with sundry bodies trying to avail themselves of my mislaid deposit....assuring the Food Company of their only possible attraction yesterday. I was not allowed to give zero stars but even that would have been too many.........AVOID THESE THIEVES Greg Fleming

Hello Greg, Thank you for taking the time to rate us and give us your opinion. Unfortunately, however we disagree. When you visited us, it was Sunday and as we told you. The shop is quieter and many people take the opportunity to rest or enjoy the day but we are available for anyone who needs their products. The prices have increased slightly due to Brexit, as there are more rules and regulations regarding extra paperwork required for importing goods. Keep in mind, the range of British products within a Spanish supermarket would not be as vast; please also remember that we only have 6 stores compared to Mercadona who have 1,600 stores and increasing so would receive larger bulk discounts and they do not have the issue of importing from outside the EU. We try our best to still offer products that we know our customers enjoy - it is all about choice and this is what we have always offered our customers. For example, we have a Bisto mural on offer that you haven't seen. We are at your disposal and could have helped you to find this product. As for the Kellogs box, we found 2 with the lid open, but the bag inside remained sealed and intact. As for their design from last Christmas they are sent by the company itself and were received in the same week, if you look closely, the expiry date is correct. Until the company itself has its new design, we will not receive it. Regarding your trolley, there was no fight, you left it anywhere on your way out and the next customer who came by picked it up just as we were about to put it back. Well took the plunge to test the positive side of tesco shopping on the Costa. I found only a few. One especially took my eye t bags, all the display showing 50% free. Okay but on a box of 240 showing the extra free amount, so technically you're paying for 120 t bags.. €9-50.. Ridiculous pricing. I noticed a 40 small packet of the same brand and €2-50 required to purchase.. €160 in the Spanish supermarkets the same brand .. The only few items was out of date fresh foods reduced fifty percent. Otherwise it's extortionate pricing.. Especially brand names... I have found 95% of our needs through Spanish supermarkets and better quality fresh products. Just don't understand the importance and prices they have on products, though imported but how does the Spanish supermarkets that support British brand's are cheaper than tesco. Every little helps.. My last fact was more staff than customers.. Wasn't worth the effort to be fair.. .

Supermercado inglés, en Mazarrón. La ubicación de esta tienda es ideal, dado que tienes aparcamiento fácil y rápido, además tiene una zona de parking. El supermercado es enorme, tiene muchas secciones, todos los productos son en su mayoría ingleses. Tienen zona de congelados, zona de hogar, zona de limpieza, golosinas, chocolates, snack, bebidas, embutidos... Lo que no tienen es Carne envasada ni queso etc al corte. El precio, es algo más elevado que un supermercado normal, pero es comprensible dado que son productos de otro país. Tienen un montón de productos diferentes, desde chocolates de amplias marcas hasta latas, pizzas... En definitiva merece la pena visitarlo, seguro que algo te llevas.

I loved it! Worth the hours drive. So many treats I've missed over the last few years. I'd keep it for special occasions (or you may aswell live back in the UK...). Probably bought tons of stuff I wouldn't have even thought about buying in England, but cheered me up after endless Covid/Brexit news. Was really really quiet at 7.30 despite being Xmas time, which is great for social distancing. Bernadette on the till was super smiley and helpful.

Today I walked in the store without a mask (my mistake) and the ladies working at the front cashiers instead of warning me at a normal level, they started screaming and yelling at me and being very nusty and unapropiate; I immediately apologized to them. When I came to pay through the cashier I apologized again but none of them said a word of apology to me for yelling. I told them they should’v been a bit polite ... however, one of them instead threatened me calling the police. I hope the manager of the store reads this and takes some sort action against this lady.

Se ha convertido en mi supermercado favorito de alimentos ingleses. Conocí la cadena Tesco en Londres en el último viaje que hice y ahora ha llegado a España de la mano de The Food Co. Aunque los precios sin un poco más caros de lo normal (solo en algunos casos) la calidad es muy buena. Las pizzas están de vicio así como los diferentes panes. Y si quieres dulces originales y únicos allí los encontrás..

Para quien conoce Tesco en UK y desea algunos de los productos británicos. Buena variedad y el personal es extraordinario muy amables y con ganas de servir. Precios correctos ya que son de importación. Sinceramente no es caro pero claro se debe conocer. Tienen la variedad de comida hindú que es difícil conseguir en España.

A welcome addition to the Puerto de Mazarrón foodstore market. Very good selection on British products, bacon, hams and a wide selection of frozen dishes as well as cereals and sweets. The produce selection is rather limited at present, though.

It felt very good, but somehow wrong, to get my Tesco wine gums (better than Maynard's) in Spain. The prices for Tesco's didn't seem extortionate either!! Recommended.

This is a Spanish supermarket trading for Tesco, fair selection if food stuffs, but poor on fresh vegetables . Why look her when vegetables are available on local markets much cheaper. Good if you want uk products

Lots to choose from with quite a few bargains but helps if you know price comparisons as some things very expensive compared to Spanish supermarkets. Not somewhere I would go to for a full shop but nice to wander around looking for a treat or two!

Great for the odd 'Guilty Expat Pleasure' like, tins of custard or tinned rice pudding, as they sell only imported English food stuffs. But of course this means the prices are higher than local Spanish super markets as you'd expect. So yes, I do shop there occasionally to buy the odd 'treat' but could not afford to do my main shop there. But a lovely shop to browse around and, as I say, treat yourself.
